# Lab features

Learn how to enable or disable lab features in your Hygraph project, choose which roles can access them, and which permission you need to manage them.

Lab features are experimental features that you can try out in your project before they are generally available. You enable or disable them for each project in **Project Settings > General > Lab features**.

**Warning:**

Lab features are experimental and subject to breaking changes without notice. They are not recommended for production use.

## Before you begin

To enable or disable lab features, your role needs the **Allows managing experimental features and their role assignments** permission (`MANAGE_EXPERIMENTAL_FEATURES`). For details, see [Management API permissions](https://hygraph.com/docs/getting-started/access-and-permissions/management-api-permissions#project-and-governance).

If you don't see **Lab features** under **Project Settings > General**, contact the [Hygraph support team](https://hygraph.com/support).

## Enable a lab feature

1. Navigate to **Project Settings > General > Lab features**.
2. Select the checkbox for the feature you want to enable.
3. (Optional) Choose which roles in the project should have access to the feature. By default, the feature is enabled for all roles.

## Disable a lab feature

1. Navigate to **Project Settings > General > Lab features**.
2. Clear the checkbox for the feature you want to disable.
