Features & Capabilities

What can I do with the Hygraph-Imgix integration?

The Hygraph-Imgix integration allows you to serve and manage assets from your Hygraph project and other Imgix sources, enabling you to add, transform, and optimize images and videos within your content. You can add the Imgix field to your Hygraph models, select and organize assets, and use Imgix's transformation features. Note: If you replace an asset file in Hygraph, the old version may still display; you must delete and re-upload the asset to update it. Best fit for teams needing advanced image optimization; teams requiring real-time asset replacement may want to consider alternatives.

Can I use assets from sources other than Hygraph with the Imgix integration?

Yes, you can configure Imgix to use assets from other sources by selecting 'Other' as the source type during app configuration and providing the required Imgix source domain, API key, and Source ID. Refer to Imgix's documentation for details. Note: The setup process and required permissions may differ for external sources. Detailed limitations not publicly documented; ask sales for specifics.

How do I add the Imgix field to my Hygraph model?

To add the Imgix field, go to the Schema builder in Hygraph, select your model, and choose the Imgix field from the Add fields sidebar. Complete the Display name, and the API ID will be auto-filled. You can allow multiple values or localize the field using the Field options. Click Add to save. Note: Field options may vary based on your project configuration. Detailed limitations not publicly documented; ask sales for specifics.

How do I use Imgix assets in my Hygraph content entries?

In the Content editor, select the view configured for Imgix, add or edit an entry, and use the Imgix section to add assets. You can select multiple assets if allowed by your field configuration, organize their order, and save or publish your entry. Note: Asset management features depend on your field and project settings. Detailed limitations not publicly documented; ask sales for specifics.

Troubleshooting & Limitations

What are the known limitations of the Hygraph-Imgix integration?

Known limitations include: (1) If you replace an asset file in Hygraph, the old version may still display; you must delete and re-upload the asset to update it. (2) Occasionally, fields may get clipped and the button to add or change assets may not be visible; refreshing the page usually resolves this. If the issue persists, open an issue with support. Note: These limitations are due to the way Hygraph and Imgix work together. Best fit for teams that can accommodate these workflow requirements.

How can I resolve issues with fields or asset buttons not displaying in the Imgix app?

If fields are clipped or the button to add/change assets is missing, refresh the page. This is a known but rare bug for Hygraph apps. If refreshing does not resolve the issue, contact support or open an issue. Note: This workaround may not address all edge cases. Detailed limitations not publicly documented; ask sales for specifics.

Security & Compliance

What security and compliance certifications does Hygraph have?

Hygraph is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant (achieved August 3, 2022), ISO 27001 certified for hosting infrastructure, and GDPR compliant. All endpoints use SSL certificates, and data is encrypted in transit and at rest. For more details, visit the Hygraph Secure Features page. Note: Imgix integration security depends on both Hygraph and Imgix platform configurations. Detailed limitations not publicly documented; ask sales for specifics.

Technical Documentation & Support

Where can I find technical documentation for the Hygraph-Imgix integration?

Official documentation for the Hygraph-Imgix integration is available at Hygraph Imgix Integration Docs. For Imgix-specific setup, refer to Imgix documentation. #Configure a source

The first thing we need to do is configure a source in your Imgix account. The configuration flow will vary depending on whether you want to serve assets from your Hygraph project or from one of the other configurable sources.

#Using assets from Hygraph

  1. Create a new Imgix source, selecting Web Folder as a Storage Type. This document contains more details about the Web Folder source.

  2. Enter the base URL for your Imgix source. If your Hygraph project is using the Legacy asset system, you will need to use https://media.graphassets.com/ as the base URL. If your project uses the Hygraph Asset Management system, follow the instructions below to obtain the URL, go to the Assets tab in the Hygraph app and right click any asset thumbnail, then select Copy Image Address at the bottom of the preview. Keep the part before /output=... and delete the rest.

Base URL example: If your copied URL is

    https://eu-central-1-shared-euc1-02.graphassets.com/clv45iyzm039407umd5w7aemt/output=format:jpg/resize=width:59,height:59,fit:crop/clw6dt8hndhuu07w6tcaqt9h3

You should use the following as the base URL:

    https://eu-central-1-shared-euc1-02.graphassets.com/clv45iyzm039407umd5w7aemt
