Frequently Asked Questions

Multi-Region Support & Performance

What regions does Hygraph support for project hosting?

Hygraph supports three regions for project hosting: EU (Ireland), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), and US West (Oregon). When creating a new Hygraph project, you can select your preferred region to optimize for lower latency and improved performance. Note: Existing projects cannot currently be moved to a new region, but Hygraph offers migration support if you wish to transition to a region-supported project. Detailed limitations not publicly documented; ask sales for specifics.

How do I select a region for my Hygraph project?

When creating a new Hygraph project, you can choose from the available regions: EU (Ireland), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), or US West (Oregon). This selection helps optimize API latency and content delivery for your target audience. Note: You cannot change the region of an existing project after creation; migration support is available upon request.

Can I move an existing Hygraph project to a different region?

Currently, Hygraph does not support moving existing projects between regions directly. However, if you wish to migrate your project to a new region, Hygraph offers support to help you transition to a region-supported project. Note: This process may require manual migration steps; contact Hygraph support for guidance.

How does Hygraph optimize performance for different regions?

Hygraph optimizes performance by offering region-specific hosting (EU, Asia Pacific, US West) and high-performance endpoints designed for low latency and high read-throughput. The platform also provides a read-only cache endpoint with 3-5x latency improvement for faster content delivery. For more details, see the High-Performance Endpoint blog post. Note: Performance may vary based on project complexity and region selection.
