Si Vale is the Mexican branch of the international group, Up, which has a presence in 29 countries, more than 3400 employees and over 24 million users around the world. Si Vale offers a variety of loyalty programs and voucher initiatives connecting businesses, employees, and customers.

p1Stache is a Mexico City-based digital experience and technology agency focusing on user-centric product design.


Si Vale needed a system that would serve as the core of the new web page and deliver all of its content. The Product and Innovation team of Juan Pablo Garcia Gomez (Executive Director of Customer Experience), in cooperation with the digital agency, p1stache, changed the entire web experience of Si Vale users in an ambitious project with tight deadlines.

The Process

A key requirement in the procurement process of Si Vale was finding a user-friendly system that marketing people would use daily, without having to rely on the IT team for any support. Information about new products and promotions needs to be published constantly, so every minute counts. It was critical that the chosen system helped the team meet a challenging launch deadline of just a few weeks. The team had a pre-existing frontend code base so the system needed to easily integrate with the existing systems.

The Si Vale and p1stache team found that Hygraph offered the critical content editing features and offered the backend flexibility that the team was searching for. The initial phase of the project went smoothly and the team was able to meet their aggressive deadlines.


As a next step, Juan's team will integrate Hygraph and the marketing platform Hubspot. They will streamline their user acquisition activities and improve the number and quality of customer leads.

The Marketing team would be working with the chosen system daily and needed a system that had the powerful content editing features necessary to give them full autonomy. GraphQL APIs

The GraphQL APIs of Hygraph enabled the development team to be more productive than ever before and shortened development timelines. Connecting their data rich Hygraph backend to their existing frontend system was a breeze and created a future-proof tech stack as the digital initiatives expand in the future.

Flexible Schema Modeling

The flexible schema modeling enabled the team to build content models that matched their specific use case and the speed at which the team could create a new model was unparalleled. The team was no longer constrained by existing templates or constraints and could instead create models that matched their needs and vision.

The Current Setup


From a strategic point of view, Hygraph is at the center of Si Vale’s web presence. The tech stack is complemented with Angular 6 for the front-end and Angular Universal for server-side rendering. Other connected systems supporting the marketing efforts of the company include Google Analytics and Microsoft Dynamics.
