Hygraph, the GraphQL-native headless CMS built for complex, composable digital experiences, today announced the appointment of Will Robinson as Chief Executive Officer.
Robinson brings more than 25 years of experience building and scaling digital experiences across cultural institutions, enterprises, and modern SaaS platforms. His career spans the evolution of digital experiences from early website and CMS development to today’s composable, API-driven architectures, all with a consistent focus on creating meaningful, engaging, and human-centered experiences.
Early in his career, Robinson led ambitious digital initiatives for major cultural institutions, including the British Museum and other organizations across the cultural sector. His work extended far beyond traditional websites, encompassing interactive installations, content-rich platforms, and multidisciplinary digital programs that balanced creativity, technology, and long-term stewardship.
After relocating to Germany in 2017, Robinson applied this foundation to large-scale B2B and B2C organizations in the headless and composable CMS space. In senior leadership roles at Contentful and Uniform, he helped organizations navigate complex content architectures, balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, and operationalize composable systems at enterprise scale.
As Hygraph’s Chief Customer Officer, Robinson led the company’s customer success organization with a strong focus on long-term value, trust, and partnership. His remit later expanded to include sales and revenue, giving him a holistic view of customer needs, product strategy, and commercial execution. During his tenure, he has doubled the company’s sales win rate and improved net retention to 120 percent.
As CEO, Robinson will lead Hygraph’s next phase of growth, focused on expanding market share and advancing Hygraph’s vision as a modern headless CMS built for the AI age. Under his leadership, Hygraph will continue to invest in structured, relational content foundations that enable AI-assisted workflows while preserving human control, governance, and intent across content creation, operations, and delivery.
AI is transforming how digital experiences are created and operated, but it doesn’t remove the need for structure, context, or human judgment. Hygraph is uniquely positioned to help organizations build human-first, AI-accelerated digital experiences where content is modeled, governed, and trusted, and AI can be applied responsibly at scale. I’m excited to lead the company into this next chapter.
Michael Lukaszczyk, Hygraph co-founder and outgoing CEO, will continue to support the company as Chairman, working closely with Robinson and the leadership team.
Hygraph was founded on the belief that content should be structured, flexible, and future-proof. Will has a deep understanding of our customers, our technology, and the complexity of modern digital experiences. I’m proud of his leadership around our people, culture, and values, and I’m confident that Hygraph is in excellent hands as we enter the AI era.
